I went with cool colors because I feel they express nighttime better than warm and the greens are just a little bit disquieting (echoing the anxiousness) than blues.
Actually, I made that reasoning up afterward. I just liked the look of the greens.
(As an aside- if you do a monochrome purple scheme and invert it in Photoshop it gives a pretty good night-vision-like effect.)

Ooooh... I really like the coloration. It gives it an extra umpf of moodiness. Although, with the green color scheme...
I couldn't somehow shake the feeling that I was a covert operative peeping in on this unsuspecting couple with my nightvision goggles. :-P
