I can appreciate a well turned gag, but I didn't initially set out to write so many joke cartoons. Somehow I just fell into that rut. These gags have started to become a bit unsatisfying for me, though (and it shows in the work) so I think it's time to go another direction.
I always figured I'd go back to the autobios at some point, but I don't know if now is the right time for that either. I'm thinking about serializing a longer piece here, or maybe some sequential pieces that I can concentrate more on the drawing of, rather than trying to force a gag or story out of it. More sketchbook comic-y.
We'll see what I come up with. All of this is still very much on the fly.

I always enjoyed the pencilled autobio comics. But I like the bold colors in these gag strips. I've just never been a big fan of gags.
